Cosmonauts day

April 12, Russia celebrates cosmonautics Day. This holiday was established by the decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet on 9 April 1962 in honor of the world’s first manned flight into space.

April 12, 1961 in earth orbit was launched the world’s first spaceship‑satellite “Vostok” with a man on Board. The launch of the first manned space craft was headed by Sergei Korolev, Anatoly Kirillov, Leonid Voskresenskiy.

Pilot‑cosmonaut of the ship was a Soviet citizen pilot major Yuri Gagarin. The start of the space multistage rocket was successful and after the set speed and separation from the last stage of the carrier rocket, the ship began a free flight on an orbit around the Earth.

After circling the globe, through 108 minutes after launch, was included braking propulsion system and the spacecraft‑the satellite began to descend from orbit to landing. In 10 hours 55 minutes Moscow time the astronaut landed in a given area of arable land in the Volga river near village of Smelovka in the Ternovsky district of the Saratov region. Continue reading

Flight to Mars and the future of NASA

National aerospace Agency is planning to expand cooperation with European institutions and private partners

The outgoing year of 2015 will also be remembered and new developments in the field of space technologies that promise to make orbital flights are cheaper and the space exploration more and more widespread. NASA successfully tests rocket engines, partially printed on 3D printers, the company Space X not only tested the truck Dragon, but was able to successfully return to land reusable first stage of Falcon 9 rocket. The first test of the private media was carried out by Blue Origin billionaire and Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. However, for all the successes of private business projects like expeditions to Mars or building a new space station is impossible without the cooperation of different countries. And space – is an area where the US, EU and Russia cooperate successfully, despite the crisis in relations on the Ground. Continue reading

Solar system, its model and structure

The universe (cosmos) is a whole world around us, limitless in time and space and infinitely diverse in forms, which takes forever moving matter. The eternity of the Universe in part you can imagine on a clear night with billions of different size luminous shimmering dots in the sky, representing the distant worlds. Rays of light at a speed of 300 000 km/s from the most remote parts of the Universe reach the Earth about 10 billion years.

According to scientists, the universe resulting from Big Bang 17 billion years ago.

It consists of clusters of stars, planets, cosmic dust and other cosmic bodies. These bodies form a system of planets with satellites (for example. Solar system), galaxies, Metagalaxy (accumulation of galaxies).

Galaxy (postdegree. galaktikos – milk, milky, from the Greek gala – milk) — a vast stellar system that consists of many stars, star clusters and associations, gaseous and dust nebulae, as well as individual atoms and particles scattered in space. Continue reading

Commercial space station

Second disclaimer: Denis Tito was the first cosmotourist, but not the first astronaut sent into orbit on a commercial basis. Even in 1990, Japanese journalist toyohiro Akiyama visited the orbital station “Mir” as a cosmonaut-researcher. For his training and flight paid Tokyo broadcasting Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) for promotional purposes.

But Dennis Tito became the first tourist in the classic sense of the word. He flew to the ISS in order to relax, spend time with pleasure, to film the Earth from the window I. to open a new era in the history of space exploration.

In the office of the Director General of the company “Orbital technologies” Sergey Kostenko – many diplomas for merits in development of space tourism and Photos with celebrities. “We’ve been working in the field of space tourism company Space Adventures, says Mr Aksyonov. – Initially it was just a workout space, and then, in 2001, there was Dennis Tito marked the beginning of a real flight. Unsolved mysteries of the Solar system

While the Solar system in General and Earth in particular is the only house people, we need to know about this house. And what? Humanity is grappling over the years, it would seem, not so complicated questions, and no answers.

1. The Oort Cloud. Does the Oort cloud

The Oort cloud is the biggest mystery of the Solar system. People have never seen this hypothetical plot of the Universe, which, according to theories, is a place of formation of the comets with a long period of treatment. Scientists believe that the Oort cloud is located at a distance from 50 thousand to 100 thousand. E. from our Sun. Its outer boundaries lie on the boundary of the Solar system, and billions of bodies out of the Oort cloud is gravitationally bound to the Sun.

2. The anomaly of the spacecraft “pioneer”. Why probes pioneer deviate from the course?

Space probes “pioneer 10” and “pioneer 11” were launched in 1972 and 1973, respectively, to study the outer limits of the Solar system. NASA scientists have observed significant deviations of vehicles from the course, due probably to the action of gravity of the Sun. When more detailed calculation of the acceleration of the spacecraft found a very weak force of unknown nature, which operated on them. Continue reading
