Comet Churyumov-Gerasimenko with the module “Fily” reached the nearest point to the Sun
Apparatus “Rosetta” was launched into space in March 2004 with a spaceport in Kourou to study the comet 67P/ Churyumov-Gerasimenko. To the destination apparatus has arrived in 2014 and is currently in orbit around the comet. November 12, 2014 on the surface of the investigated object was launched module “Fily”. He entered the history of space exploration, as the first probe successfully landing on a comet for the first time and managed to drill the surface for the taking of soil samples. Thanks to this unique scientific mission scientists expect to obtain detailed data about the physical and chemical structure of the comet, which will greatly expand human knowledge about the origin of the Universe.
According to him, the closer to the star in recent months, the comet’s activity has steadily increased. This is evidenced by the comparison of Photographs taken by Rosetta, the robot lander with a difference a year last summer and now. Continue reading
So far the only scientifically proven the possibility of interstellar travel is the acceleration of the spacecraft up to relativistic speeds (punctures and convolution space still remain purely speculative projects). The ship may abandon astronauts in suspended animation for a dozen or even a hundred light years and return them to Earth. But because of the relativistic slowing of Board time on earth will pass away not even the century and Millennium — and it is somehow not pleasing. In addition to other galaxies to get to, there’s no cryostasis will not help. But it is possible that the output is still there.
For 15 years Professor of theoretical physics at Imperial College London, Joao Magueijo develops the hypothesis of variable speed of light (Varying Speed of Light, VSL). However, he minded very little, since most scientists believe this idea is pure nonsense. But we are talking about science impossible, so will try to temper my skepticism.
VSL-models calculated in several ways. They all say that measured on Earth the speed of light in a vacuum is not an absolute constant, and only the lower limit of the speed of propagation of electromagnetic waves. In certain (frankly, vesimaailma) conditions may be many times 299 792 km/s. Continue reading
“In 80 days around the world” – was the slogan in the old history of the development of technology. Now this task is formulated so: to achieve 40 days of the planet Mars. It sounds unbelievable, nonetheless it is quite real.
New rocket technology must already exist!
Firm Ad Astra Rocket Company earlier NASA astronaut Franklin Chang-Diaz has developed a new rocket engine. Thus the electric energy and the magnetic field associated to the plasma that goes with a high fever. This beam plasma produces uniform and efficient cravings and needs in comparison with other types of engines only in a small amount of fuel.
With this new technology significantly increased the likelihood that a manned mission will continue to be our neighboring planet about 40 days is a small revolution in space flight.
The smallest distance between Mars and Earth is about 56 million km, the largest 401 million km. Continue reading
